Tim Horton’s Kite Festival

July 1, 2007

From 1pm to 4pm

Every year, hundreds of children take part in the Tim Horton’s Canada Day Kite Festival. Kids decorate the sky all afternoon with their colorful kites. Also located on the 4th Sand Beach of Lake Huron, kids have the ideal location to fly their kites high during the Canada Day Celebrations.

Community Days

July 12 – 15, 2007

Join us this July as we celebrate our town’s past, present and future during the 61st Annual Community Days. In 1946, the Town of Blind River hosted its first Community Days and people gathered to witness the skill, strength and bravery of the white pine loggers. This gathering has since become the largest celebration in our town. What was once a small reflection of the regional logging industry, the Annual Community Days have grown into a major tourist destination, attracting thousands every year. With events like the parade, lumberjack competition, midway, horse pulls, live music, dances, children entertainers, canoe races, outdoor concerts and beer gardens, the Blind River Community Days event is where you’ll want to be this summer.
